What is a list picker in Apple Messages for Business?

A list picker is an interactive Apple Messages for Business message that lets a customer choose from a list, such as a product, a department, or a reason for contact, inside the Messages thread.

A list picker is one of the structured message types in Apple Messages for Business. Instead of asking someone to type a department name or a product, the brand sends a list they can tap. The reply comes back as a selection the MSP can route.

What teams use it for

Common lists are reasons for contact, store departments, product choices, and the first step of a booking. It is a customer-initiated tap inside a conversation the customer already opened. It is not an outbound marketing blast.

Who can send one

The brand does not call Apple directly. An approved Messaging Service Provider builds the payload and sends it through the Messages for Business API. Support is not universal, so check the providers that document it: MSPs with list picker. The API guide covers the rest of the message types, including time pickers, forms, and Apple Pay.
